Abstract: Anatomy for hundreds of years has been a cornerstone of medical curriculum. It is a well-known and accepted fact that surgeons need to have knowledge of anatomy, but the knowledge of anatomy also has a value for anyone who intends to work, develop any technology related healthcare progressive tools. Since anatomy deals with structure of human body from gene to entire human architecture comprising of gross features, development of organs & tissues, microstructure of entire organ systems etc., it is essential for the better outcome of technology driven development of healthcare. We can consider knowledge of shape, size, and other details of the bones to develop tools based on augmented reality which can be useful in orthopedic practice. Embryological development of organs insight helps to develop 4D models which improve surgical outcomes in congenital disorders. Microanatomical details help to design and develop effective phantoms, prosthetic units which can mimic the original structure/organ. Fabrication of human organs requires an intricate knowledge of the organs. Development of Image processing tools for diagnostic applications need blueprint knowledge of structural details of organs. The purpose of this presentation is to emphasize the importance and the role of knowledge of anatomy for the better outcome of technology amalgamated health care development.
